This weekend Larry and I went to Miami for the SoBe Food and Wine Festival and to visit Nell & Mark. Saturday morning our first stop was to the “Bring Sexy Back” cocktail class:

where Nell, Mark, Larry, and I learned how to make (and drink) six “seductive” cocktails. We also learned how to muddle:

shake:

pour:

and squeeze (limes, that is)! After the class, larry and I went to the (nude) beach for a while before meeting back up with Mark and Nell at the Social @ the Sagamore for Dinner, which included a flaming cocktail, and lots of different cool food.

Sunday was the Festival “Grand Tasting.” It (by luck) took place directly across from our hotel, within tents on the beach. There were a bunch of tents for different seminars (by Rachel Ray, Bobby Flay, Paula Dean and a bunch other Food Network stars), and then two large tents for tons of food, wine, and cocktail boths (and a few crazy dancers). We ate and drank til we were full and buzzed, before returning to the airport.

This weekend I spent in NY with Larry for the three day weekend. Friday night my plane got in late so we had to postpone our dinner plans at Del Posto to another time. Saturday we did some shopping (I bought a new blackberry!) and then went home and cooked (well, Larry cooked and I watched and took pictures) a delicious dinner:

Sunday we met Larry’s fam for brunch and then I got to watch NY’s best dodgeball team:

Sunday night we had dinner at Buddakhan and then well to a professional kareoke bar (with American Idol drop-outs) where Larry and Reed sand “Complicated.” Unfortunately, I left the camera at home that night

Miami this weekend!

Last weekend was our trip to Vail, and my first time skiing! I survived, didn’t break anything, but only skied one day (but never fell!). Vail was beautiful, and between skiing we hit “apres ski,” ate at The Wildflower, did some kareoke, and tried to stay out of the cold! Pics are here.
