Jackpot!

This weekend I visited Larry in NY. On Friday night we went to a David Nee Foundation “Casino Night” benefit at Capitale.

We each got $200 play chips to gamble with. We started out a little slow on Blackjack, but after a few drinks our luck changed. After maxing out the Blackjack table, we tried Craps, which I’ve never played before. Took a little while to get a hang off, but apparently I’m a very good lucky player. I stayed the shooter until they closed down the table and won everyone at our table a ton of play money (except for us, since we still didn’t really know how to play very well). Well maybe we did pretty well after all, we walked away with over $2000 in play chips, which is bittersweet since they were in fact valueless.

The only problem was every time Larry left the table my luck went down, so I may be in trouble when I go to Vegas solo in January!

After the benefit we got a late night wine and cheese snack at inoteca (which was awesome).

On Saturday we slept very late, did some shopping (NY is alive with the sounds of Christmas), and had some good Italian with Larry’s roomates. Then it was (sadly) back to DC on the 2pm shuttle.
