Happy 2008!

So I know I’m late but I’m finally posting about Christmas and New Year’s. I went to NJ the Saturday before Christmas and stayed until Thursday afternoon. Lots of quality family time – I’ll hopefully be able to post pictures soon.

On Thursday I took the (crowded) train into NY to see Larry. Thursday night we went back to Sapa, one of our favs. Good meal, but I gotta say, not as good as the first time (the cucumber martini was still tops though).

Friday was the day we would get to experience Larry’s Holiday gift – Lobsterpalooza! Yes, that’s right, live lobsters in the house! They arrived, sleepy, in a cooler Friday afternoon:

We let them chill together in the cooler until dinnertime. Then, it was time.

Though quite sad, they were also very good!

I have to pat myself on the back for that one – what a great gift! More pics from our lobster dinner are here.

Saturday morning we met Ali and Jim at Max Brenner for brunch. Again, good stuff, but not as great as usual (they changed their menu a bit). I then browsed 5th Ave and Rockefeller Center while Larry worked a little. That night we grabbed some Italian near by and then saw Juno. On Sunday we met Larry’s parents for brunch at CraftBar and then had a pretty lazy Sunday.

Monday was New Year’s Eve. After getting dolled up, we went to a bar called Retreat with some of Larry’s friends for the night.

It was a good new years, the bar was nice and not too crowded, and the vodka was flowing (and, somehow, I was the only one not to get totally sloshed). The rest of New Year’s pics are here.
Tuesday it was back to NJ, and then back to DC, where Mitzie was eagerly awaiting my return. :)
